The Active Value Trust Rating system (AVTR) is intended to serve as the consumer-side equivalent of the credit rating system banks use to judge whether a person should have access to financial services, and at what cost. The AVTR system is designed to provide policy-makers, regulators, investors, consumers, and the rated institutions themselves, with more reliable information to support sustainable business models attuned to the landscape of future risk and new value-building opportunities.

Liberate Energy exists to discover and develop the critical ingredients of the distributed clean energy economy of the future. Our integrated, multifaceted business strategy is designed to accelerate discovery of new materials, technologies, systems, and business models, and ensure we achieve zero-carbon in all sectors as soon as possible.
LIBERATE FINANCE
Liberate Personal Finance is designed around a core group of revolutionary technologies for managing energy and information. This will facilitate the inclusion of everyone in a climate-smart, high-efficiency energy economy. By expanding the embedded climate intelligence of economic actors large and small, we can optimize resource use and market pricing strategies, and expand overall value-creating potential in the everyday economy.
LIBERATE INSIGHT
Liberate Insight is focused on development of integrated data systems and related business intelligence services. Our Insight endeavor aims to develop data systems that do more to support integral human development and sustainable shared prosperity, by networking Earth science insights and other non-financial information to financial data, to support better decision-making.
LIBERATE MATERIALS
Ephemeral smart materials are emerging as a mainstream technology need, the power of which is still not well understood. As applied quantum science advances, and we get closer to being able to reliably manage information through quantum mechanical interfaces, the possibilities for an unprecedented leap in energy production, information management, and the reinvnention of financial mechanisms—and money itself—are diversifying and coming into view.
Geodesiq Foresight
Geodesiq Foresight is our sustainability advisory practice. We provide advisory services for institutions with an interest in developing customized, locally rooted climate risk reduction and resilience strategies. Advisory services are available for small businesses, municipalities, foundations, universities, and other institutions intersested in avoiding major climate risk and cost.
The Navigator
The least understood detail of the sustainability revolution is the fact that the actions that will help secure a livable future for those many future generations are also the best way for us to live well, free, and safely, today. We need honest research, access to evidence, thoughtful analysis of what is at stake, and institutions that are comfortable with complexity. The Navigator covers climate, democracy, science, innovation, and the surprising intersections between geopolitics and local experience.
The Networked Earth System Science Initiative
As the formal federal commitment to maintain always-on multidimensional Earth system observational science capabilities is eroded—by policy setbacks and funding cuts, by reduced staffing and possible deactivation of satellite systems—there is an overriding public interest in the establishment of a networked Earth system science initiative (NESSI).
The Resilience Intelligence Fund
The Resilience Intelligence Fund is a cooperative thesis-driven fund providing seed capital and operational funding for initiatives that develop and deliver resilience insights to end users throughout the everyday economy. Over ten years, the Fund aims to commit $200 million to incubation efforts, to attract public and private capital, with support from philanthropic and multilateral grants.
